The Light Now Media Team

Heather Mandel

Founder/Chief Engagement Officer

From the earliest days of her career creating a weekly entertainment newsletter for her sixth-grade class, Heather recognized the tremendous power of media to facilitate information and affect lives. She started out serving large media conglomerates as an integral member of the marketing team behind the Power Rangers global phenomenon, and co-developed Breaker High, a network children’s television series that aired around the world. She continued working with entertainment leaders such as News Corporation, Fox Kids Network, Sony Pictures, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios as a senior marketing consultant, executive speechwriter and live event scriptwriter. For the past 20 years her strategic marketing, public relations and corporate marketing services have proven to effectively engage audiences and drive sales for industry-leading organizations such as Wells Fargo, Epicor Software, Easter Seals Southern California, Bank of New York/Mellon, Toshiba, Goodwill of Orange County, Lytx and many others.

Along with cheering on clients and supporting their success, Heather loves leveraging a variety of technology, tools and media to engage and inspire audiences in ways that are compelling, consistent and memorable. As a produced television and stage writer and oil painter, she joyfully taps her multi-media background, creativity and outside-the-box thinking for each and every client and project.

In addition to leading the Light Now Media team and serving as a devoted team member on every project, Heather is a certified multidisciplinary yoga teacher, artist and modern mystic enthralled with quantum energy, consciousness, and practicing the art of “being” under the tutelage of her personal Zen master and Shih-Tzu companion, Buckley.

David Nagy, Attorney

Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law

David was born in Budapest to American diplomats, grew up in Washington, West Berlin, Copenhagen, Rome and London, and speaks eight languages with varying degrees of fluency as a result, having taught four of them at Berlitz.  He played and toured extensively as a singer/guitarist/keyboardist/bassist/songwriter with his own projects and with many acts – including two tours as the lead singer for the Grass Roots – has produced several feature films, and was a champion on “Tic-Tac-Dough,” “Sale of the Century” and of course, “Jeopardy.”  So if you need to know the answer to questions like: “This orchestral instrument is the first one heard in Stravinsky’s ‘Orpheus’ & the second heard in Liszt’s ‘Orpheus'”?  He’s your guy.

David earned an A.S. in Electronics from Los Angeles Valley College, a B.A. in Political Science from Amherst College, and a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Comm/Ent Law Journal.  He now has his own law practice, specializing in intellectual property and entertainment law.  He is admitted to practice in California and before the USPTO and CAFC, where he has argued exactly one case (and won).
